About Felix namque
Sung during Marian services, this SATTB motet sets a beautiful Latin text of praise for the Virgin Mary. The composer draws on the tradition of sacred polyphony, creating a rich sound world for the choir. The lyrics speak of Mary's blessedness and her role as intercessor for the people, clergy, and devout women. The music reflects the text's devotional character, celebrating her as the mother of Christ, the 'sun of justice'.
