About Feast of all saints
"Feast of All Saints" is a Responsorial Psalm setting composed specifically for the Solemnity of All Saints. The refrain, "Such are the men who seek Your face, O Lord," captures the very heart of the feast. It serves as both a celebration of the saints who have already entered into glory and a direct call to the congregation to follow in their footsteps. When the cantor intones these words from the ambo, it sets a tone of reverence and deep spiritual longing for the Mass.
The verses are drawn directly from Psalm 24, asking the profound question of who is worthy to climb the mountain of the Lord and stand in His holy place. The answer provided—"the man with clean hands and pure heart"—reminds the faithful of the everyday virtues required for holiness. For a choir and congregation, singing this psalm together during the Liturgy of the Word creates a moment of shared reflection. The steady rhythm of the verses allows the words to breathe, giving the assembly time to meditate on the reward promised to the faithful seekers of God.
