Fear not, O land by Edward Elgar — Lyrics
About Fear not, O land
The prophet Joel bids the land rejoice, for the Lord will do great things. This anthem, setting verses from Joel chapter 2, paints a picture of abundance and divine blessing: the pastures spring, the trees bear fruit, the floors are full of wheat, and the people eat in plenty and praise God's wondrous dealings. Edward Elgar's setting for SATB voices, sung in English, captures the spirit of jubilant thanksgiving and profound peace described in the text. It is a powerful assurance of God's provision and a call to joyful celebration in His name.
