Fatimas Ave Maria by Anonymous — Lyrics
Reiz trīspadsmitā maijā Kovā da Irijā
kā Jaunava skaista Tu nāci, Marija.
Ave Maria.
Ar gaismu virs koka ik mēnesi nāci,
ik dienas rožkroni mums lūgties Tu māci.
Ave Maria.
Tu solīji mieru virs zemes, Marija,
ja atmetam grēkot un ja gandarījam.

About Fatimas Ave Maria
This setting of the Ave Maria comes from an anonymous composer. The text, in Latvian, recounts the apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Fátima, Portugal. It speaks of her appearances starting on May 13th, promising peace and instructing the faithful to pray the rosary. The lyrics mention a miracle in October and the eventual triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart over evil, bringing peace to all nations. This sacred anthem is scored for SATB choir, offering a devotional reflection on the Marian apparitions and their message.
