Fansång by Wilhelm Peterson-Berger — Lyrics
Hemlandsluften som glider fram över fadrens jord,
hur än du konstfullt smider kedjor av ord till ord,
tolkar du ej dess tjusning,
tyder ej dess vingefläkt
eller den tankarnas ljusning
vinden i fanor väckt.

About Fansång
This rousing Swedish anthem, Fansång, is perfect for patriotic occasions or moments of civic pride. The composer, Wilhelm Peterson-Berger, has crafted a powerful setting for SATB choir. The lyrics speak of the beauty of the homeland and the inspiring power of song, urging the voice to rise and interpret the spirit of the nation. The music would suit a celebratory concert or a national festival, capturing a sense of collective aspiration and remembrance. The text's imagery of a flag's wing-beat and the spirit renewing souls adds a profound emotional depth to this stirring piece.
