About Fanciullo
Kapsperger's Fanciullo is a secular Italian song for two sopranos, a voice type he often explored with imaginative flair. The music opens with a playful, almost conversational interplay between the two voices, soon developing into a rich, imitative texture. The text is a complex, extended metaphor, depicting the singer's release from the tyranny of love.
