About Exultet iam angelica

The words of this motet, Exultet iam angelica, express the joyous celebration of heavenly hosts and divine mysteries, heralding the victory of a king. Earth itself is called to rejoice, illuminated by his splendor, and the darkness of the world is dispelled. The mother Church is adorned with his light, and this hall resounds with the voices of many people in an Alleluia. Giovanni Gabrieli’s setting for eight choirs (SATB.SSAAT.ATBBB) creates a monumental sound, ideal for the grand pronouncements of this sacred text.
