About Exsultet orbis

This jubilant Latin hymn, Exsultet orbis, is suitable for services celebrating apostles or saints, or indeed for Eastertide. The text rejoices in the glory of the apostles as judges of the ages and lights of the world. The composer Delfino Thermignon sets these fervent prayers for release from guilt and for increased virtue in a three-part SSA setting. The music expresses the plea for absolution and the hope for eternal joy in the company of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is a devotional piece that calls on the saints to intercede for us, ensuring we are found worthy when Christ returns to judge the world.
