About Exsultate, justi, in Domino
This energetic motet is ideal for a festive occasion. Ottavio Vernizzi sets Psalm 33:1-3 with exuberant joy, calling the righteous to rejoice in the Lord. The text urges singers to praise God with new songs, played on various instruments and sung with great fervor. Vernizzi's setting is crafted for a rich eight-part choir, divided into SATB and ATTB sections, allowing for a grand and sonorous effect. The intricate interplay between the vocal lines and the dynamic text painting would create a powerful and uplifting experience for both choir and congregation.
