About Exaudiat te Dominus
Dominique Phinot's Exaudiat te Dominus is a sacred motet for double choir (SAATTB). The Latin text is drawn from Psalm 20, a prayer for divine protection and favour. It begins with a plea for God to hear the singer in times of trouble and to defend them by the name of the God of Jacob. The text continues by asking God to remember sacrifices and grant their heart's desires, culminating in a prayer for the king's salvation. Phinot crafts a rich, polyphonic setting for his six-part choir, offering a powerful and devotional expression of faith and supplication.
