About Even such is time
Even Such Is Time offers a profound reflection on mortality and divine trust, making it a fitting choice for services of remembrance or moments of solemn contemplation. The SATB voicing allows for rich harmonic textures to support the evocative English text. This sacred motet contemplates the transient nature of life, how earthly possessions and joys are ultimately reclaimed by time and the grave. Yet, it concludes with a powerful affirmation of faith, looking beyond the dust and silence to a resurrection through God's power. The composer Geoff Allan crafts a setting that underscores the text's solemnity while conveying its underlying message of enduring hope.
