En este plazuelita

This anonymous Spanish folk song for SATB voices depicts a charmingly whimsical scene. The music likely reflects the lightheartedness of the text, which humorously describes snow remaining all summer in a small square and on a plain. The lyrics continue with a playful narrative about rain, mud, and a driver who has apparently had too much to drink and is fast asleep. The interplay of the four vocal parts would bring to life the rustic charm and simple, memorable imagery of this traditional song.
