Ein gute Wehr und Waffen.

About Ein feste Burg
Johannes Eccard sets the famous Martin Luther hymn text, Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott, in this stirring SATTB setting. The music opens with a strong, declamatory statement of the hymn's opening lines, the voices moving with a sense of purpose and power. Eccard skillfully builds the texture, creating a rich and resonant sound world for this declaration of faith. The German text, proclaiming God as a strong fortress, speaks of unwavering trust in the face of adversity. This composition offers a robust and imposing rendition of a cornerstone of the Reformation hymnal, suitable for a choir that can deliver its resolute message with conviction.
