Ego sum pastor bonus

The words of this motet are drawn from the Gospel of John, where Jesus describes himself as the Good Shepherd. The solo SATB choir proclaims "I am the good shepherd; I lay down my life for my sheep." The text continues with verses from Psalm 23, where the Lord is depicted as a shepherd guiding and providing for his flock. This sacred Latin setting offers a rich devotional experience, with the choir taking on the role of the faithful, reflecting on divine care and protection. The music aims to convey the solace and assurance found in these scriptural passages.
