About Ego flos campi
This setting of the Song of Solomon by Jan Tollius is ideal for a special occasion, perhaps during Lent or at Marian services. The rich SAATB voicing allows for a full, resonant sound, bringing out the sensuous imagery of the Latin text. The choir will explore the lush harmonies as the music unfolds the biblical verses. The text speaks of the beloved as a flower of the field, comparing their love to a lily among thorns and an apple tree among the trees of the forest.
