About Ecco felice
On a festive occasion, this engaging solo madrigal by Giovanni Ghizzolo celebrates the arrival of Love without wings or arrows. The text, set in Italian, playfully suggests that this gentle form of love does not wound and does not fly away, but rather captures the hearts of lovers. Ghizzolo's music, crafted for solo soprano and bass, likely offers a charming and intimate musical setting, perfect for a moment of lighthearted reflection or entertainment. It is a delightful example of secular Renaissance part-music, bringing a touch of elegance and wit to any programme.
