Ecce Saceerdos

Maximilian Stadler's Ecce Sacerdos Magnus is a setting for SATB choir of a Latin text typically used to honour a high priest. The words speak of one who pleased God in his days, was made to grow in his people by divine oath, and received God's blessing and covenant. The text includes a setting of the Lesser Doxology, Gloria Patri. The composer's name might be familiar to those who study Mozart's life, as Stadler was a friend and one of his pallbearers.
