Ecce Dominus veniet

The opening of this setting presents a gentle, flowing texture, with the SATB voices entering successively to create a sense of anticipation. The music builds in intensity as the text proclaims the coming of the Lord with great light. This sacred Latin antiphon, attributed to Girolamo Lambardi, uses the full choir to powerful effect, conveying the solemnity and joy of the Advent season. The composer’s sensitive setting of the scripture, culminating in a radiant Alleluia, makes this a compelling choice for choirs seeking music of spiritual depth and musical assurance.
