Ecce Dominus noster

The prophet Isaiah foretells the coming of the Lord, and this powerful Latin antiphon sets his words to music. The text speaks of God's strength and the illumination he will bring to his faithful. Lambardi's setting for SATB choir captures this sense of awe and anticipation, with the 'Alleluia' offering a moment of pure exultation. This is a stirring anthem for mixed voices, suitable for services and concerts where a message of divine presence and hope is desired. It calls for confident singing, with clear articulation of the Latin text.
