About Ecce annuntio vobis
Johann Knöfel's motet Ecce annuntio vobis is a striking example of sacred Renaissance part-music. Scored for SSATB voices, this Latin setting brings to life the joyous biblical announcement of Christ's birth. The text, drawn from the Gospel of Luke, speaks of the great joy that is brought to all people with the advent of the Savior, Christ the Lord, born in the city of David. Knöfel's setting masterfully conveys the exultant message of this scripture, making it a powerful choice for liturgical settings or concert performance.
