About Eamus

Leonhard Sailer's Eamus is a sacred motet for SATB choir, set to a Latin text. The music opens with the Magi, urging each other to go, to hasten and to hurry, seeking the newborn King. Their quest is framed by their encounter with Herod, who questions them about their purpose and the sign of the King's birth – a star whose splendor illuminates the world. The Magi's fervent desire to worship the newborn King, their journey guided by a celestial light, forms the dramatic core of this compelling work, culminating in a joyous Alleluja.
