About E ne la calda Estate
The text paints a vivid picture of summer harvest, with the scythe-wielding reaper tirelessly cutting the crops. He sings despite the heat, finding joy and delight in his work as he stores the rich harvest in the granary. This SSATB madrigal by Lelio Bertani captures the scene with music that reflects the pastoral atmosphere and the joyful labour of the season. It is a secular Italian part-song from the Renaissance period, ideal for a choir looking for evocative and engaging repertoire.
