About Dua lumi anzi
Eliseo Ghibel’s Dua lumi anzi paints a vivid scene of a soul guided by love’s virtues through life’s tempestuous sea. The text speaks of two lights, two poles, steering the narrator’s vessel towards a safe haven, protected from any storm. This protection brings comfort and dispels fear, as the grace and virtue of these guiding lights are so potent that even heaven might envy them in their mortal veil. Composed for TTB voices, this Italian secular madrigal masterfully captures the Renaissance spirit of word-painting, offering a rich and expressive musical setting for this allegorical journey.
