Drop down, ye heavens, from above

Jennifer Bastable's Drop down, ye heavens, from above is a powerful SATB anthem for mixed choir, set to words drawn from Isaiah 45:8. The text, a profound plea for divine intervention and the opening of the earth to bring forth salvation, evokes the anticipation of Christmas. Bastable crafts a rich musical setting that underscores the majestic and hopeful nature of the prophecy. This piece is ideally suited for choirs looking to explore significant sacred repertoire during the Advent and Christmas seasons, offering a stirring and spiritually resonant experience for both performers and listeners.
