About Dominus dabit
Nobuaki Izawa's motet Dominus dabit is written for SATB choir and is sung in Latin. The text is drawn from Psalm 85, traditionally interpreted as a prayer for divine mercy and restoration. It opens with a plea for God to turn away his wrath and show his people his salvation. The music reflects the supplication of the text, with moments of fervent prayer and eventual hope for peace.
