Dirigatur oratio mea by Moritz Brosig — Lyrics

Psalmus David.

About Dirigatur oratio mea

This motet by Moritz Brosig sets a Latin text drawn from Psalm 141, a prayer for divine protection and guidance. It would be appropriate for services during penitential seasons or for general use in a liturgical context. The composer's setting for SATB choir is a powerful exploration of the psalm's themes of supplication and the desire to remain righteous. The text opens with a plea to have one's prayer heard and directed like incense before God, leading into petitions for guarding the lips and heart from wrongdoing. Brosig's music likely reflects the earnest and sometimes dramatic nature of these requests, offering a compelling choral experience rooted in sacred tradition.
