Dievmātes litānija (itāļu tautas melodija) (Litanie alla Madonna)

This is a solo arrangement of the Litanie alla Madonna, a traditional Italian folk melody, presented here in Latvian. The text is a Marian litany, a form of devotional prayer that invokes the Virgin Mary with a series of petitions. It begins with the ancient pleas of Kyrie, eleison, followed by specific invocations to Christ, the Holy Trinity, and Mary herself, calling her by many titles such as Mother of God, Immaculate Mother, and Mother of Mercy. The litany format lends itself to prayerful reflection and is suitable for liturgical settings, particularly during Marian feasts or times of devotion to the Blessed Virgin. The solo voice can convey a personal and intimate expression of faith.
