Deus, Misereatur Nostri by Robert White — Lyrics
About Deus, Misereatur Nostri
Robert White's Deus, Misereatur Nostri is a sacred motet for a large choir of six parts (AATTBB). The Latin text is drawn from Psalm 67, a psalm of praise and thanksgiving. It begins with a plea for God's mercy and blessing, asking that His face shine upon His people, and that His ways be known on earth, His saving power among all nations. The text continues with joyful acclamations to God as judge and guide of peoples and nations, concluding with a prayer for a fruitful earth and a universal blessing. The rich six-part texture allows for a full and sonorous exploration of this rich biblical text.
