About Deus adiuva me
Lorenz Lemlin, a composer active in the mid-16th century, wrote this motet for ATB voices. The work is set in Latin and draws on the Psalms, specifically Psalm 70, which offers a prayer for divine assistance in times of distress and thanksgiving for deliverance. The text expresses a plea for God to come to the singer's aid, asking for confusion and shame for those who seek their life and wish them ill.
