Der Pfarrer von sant Veit

This German secular partsong for SATB choir comes from the Renaissance period. The text tells a humorous, slightly risqué story about a priest and his attractive cook. The music would suit a convivial gathering or a concert program looking for lively and engaging repertoire. The anonymous composer crafts a delightful setting of the popular German folk verse, making it an excellent choice for choirs seeking a piece with character and wit from this era of unaccompanied choral writing. Its engaging narrative and straightforward musical setting ensure it will be a crowd-pleaser.
