Dentro a un bagno

Alessandro Orologio's madrigal Dentro a un bagno depicts an intimate scene of a lady surrounded by flowers, with the singer as her handmaid. The text poetically describes a moment of intense emotion, where the speaker experiences both coldness and burning passion, ultimately feeling elevated. This secular Italian work for SSATB voices captures the Renaissance fascination with sensual imagery and nuanced emotional states, characteristic of the madrigal tradition. Orologio masterfully uses the interplay of voices to convey the text's vivid and contrasting sensations.
