About Delectare in Domino (1608)

Find delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Reveal your way to the Lord and hope in Him, and He will act. This motet by Philipp Dulichius offers a comforting message of trust and divine providence. The Latin text, from Psalm 37, encourages the listener to place their faith in God. Composed for SAATTBB voices, the six parts offer a rich sonority, allowing for a full and resonant expression of the devotional text. Dulichius's setting provides a sonorous and reflective musical setting for this hopeful scriptural passage.
