Deficiente vino

The miracle at Cana serves as the inspiration for Francesco Feroci's setting of Deficiente vino. Jesus, seeing the wine run out at the wedding feast, commands that the water jars be filled. The water is then transformed into wine, a moment of divine provision and joy, set here for TTB voices in Latin. As a Magnificat antiphon, this sacred motet would have been sung before and after the Magnificat during Vespers. Feroci's music captures the narrative and the miraculous nature of the event, offering a rich musical experience for male choirs.
