De Beata

Václav Emanuel Horák composed this sacred motet for solo tenor, setting a Latin text. The lyrics are a prayer to the Virgin Mary, addressing her as a pious mother, asking her to intercede with God on behalf of the singer. The text expresses a deep personal plea for divine mercy, with the singer imploring Mary to ask God to keep his heart with His grace. Horák’s setting likely reflects the devotional spirit of the Latin motet tradition, offering a heartfelt solo expression of faith.
