Davids 146 Psalm

Laura Netzel's Davids 146 Psalm is a setting of Psalm 146 in Swedish. The text, beginning with a joyous Halleluja, soon turns to a solemn reflection on the futility of placing trust in earthly rulers rather than in God. Netzel's SATB setting likely follows the tradition of Swedish Lutheran psalmody, offering a rich harmonic language suitable for sacred occasions. The piece moves from confident praise to a warning against false reliance, culminating in a renewed assertion of faith in the Lord. Its direct and powerful message, combined with the evocative Swedish text, makes it a compelling choice for choirs seeking meaningful sacred repertoire.
