Das ist meine Freude

This sacred motet for SATB voices is a setting of German words drawn from Psalm 72 and the devotional writings of Martin Moller. The text expresses profound joy and unwavering trust in God, finding solace, help, and counsel in Him. The composer captures this deep faith, with the music reflecting the assurance that those who rely on Jesus Christ will never be abandoned. The assurance of God's eternal truth and His role as a shepherd guiding and protecting His flock is powerfully conveyed through the vocal lines. Liebhold's setting offers a rich and devotional experience, ideal for a choir seeking to explore the spiritual depth of Renaissance sacred music.
