Crucifixus

This potent setting of the Crucifixus and rising from the Nicene Creed is ideal for services during Lent and Holy Week, or for Eastertide. The SATB voicing allows for rich harmonic textures, particularly in the depiction of Christ's suffering and death, and the triumphant assertion of his resurrection. The Latin text speaks of the profound theological truths of Christ's Passion, burial, resurrection, ascension, and his promise to return in glory. Mariano Garau’s music captures the dramatic arc of these events, from somber reflection to exultant affirmation, making it a deeply moving addition to any sacred choral repertoire.
