About Corona aurea
Jacob Handl paints a vivid picture of divine royalty in this Latin motet, Corona aurea. The text speaks of a golden crown placed upon the head of a blessed figure, signifying holiness, glorious honour, and strength. It describes this person being preceded by blessings and crowned with a precious stone, evoking an image of immense spiritual and earthly power bestowed from above. Scored for SAATBB voices, this sacred motet is a rich and devotional offering, suitable for contemplative performance.
