About Cor Jesu 1
This sacred hymn in Latin, Cor Jesu, offers a heartfelt plea to the Heart of Jesus. The text opens with a prayer for purification, asking the pure Heart of Jesus, the altar of holiness, to cleanse the singer's own heart, stained with sin. It continues by invoking the gentle, humble Heart full of goodness, seeking to become more like it and to receive the fire of Jesus's love.
