Congratulamini mihi

This jubilant motet is ideal for a festive occasion. The Latin text, taken from scripture, speaks of rejoicing and divine favour. The composer Andrea Bianchi sets this text for double SATB choir, creating rich polyphonic textures and opportunities for antiphonal effects. The lyrics describe a personal spiritual journey, from early piety to a profound union with the divine, likening the individual's fruitfulness to that of a vine bearing sweet-smelling grapes. The grandeur of the double choir allows for a powerful and uplifting performance, suitable for a high feast day or a celebratory concert.
