About Concordes adhibete
Floriano Canale's SSAATB motet Concordes adhibete animos is a richly scored work for double choir. The text, in Latin, offers praise to Adrian Willaert, a towering figure of Renaissance music. It celebrates his compositional genius, stating that no one has ever produced sweeter music, through which true music now flourishes. The motet calls for all ages to honour him and praises Flanders, his native land. The text concludes with a direct address: "Live, Adrian, glory of the Muses."
