About Con una fronda di mirto
Andrea Vitello conjures a serene, evocative scene in Con una fronda di mirto. The Italian text, a translation of Archilochus, speaks of a figure playing with a myrtle branch and a fresh rose, their hair casting a light shadow over shoulders. Vitello sets this gentle imagery for SATB choir, creating a moment of quiet contemplation. The music explores the delicate beauty of the text, inviting singers and listeners alike into a peaceful, sun-dappled atmosphere. It is a secular work that captures a fleeting, natural moment with refined musicality.
