Come, Lord Jesus, come

This devotional setting of a familiar Advent text is suitable for services of Evening Prayer or Compline, or any occasion when the choir wishes to express a yearning for Christ’s presence. The SAT voicing makes it accessible for choirs of varied strengths, and the simple, repetitive nature of the refrain is easily learned. The text itself speaks of an Emmanuel, a God with us, whose coming is longed for by all believers. The composer Edewede Oriwoh has crafted a melody that perfectly captures this sense of hopeful anticipation and spiritual desire.
