Come Holy Spirit, Come by Nicholas Azza — Lyrics
COME, HOLY SPIRIT, COME
Chorus:
Come, Holy Spirit, come, come,
Come fill the hearts of your faithful
And enkindle in them the fire,
of your love. Come, Spirit, come.
1. Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created.
And you shall renew the face of the earth.
2. Breath in them, breathe in them, breathe in them, O Holy Spirit,
that their thoughts, that their thoughts, that their thoughts may be always holy.

About Come Holy Spirit, Come
Nicholas Azza's Come Holy Spirit, Come is a powerful setting of a familiar Pentecostal invocation. The SATB choir is asked to convey the fervor and pleas for divine inspiration found in the English text. The music calls for the Holy Spirit to descend, fill believers with love, and renew the earth. The choir embodies the faithful, praying for enlightenment, guidance, and strength, urging the Spirit to breathe holiness into their thoughts and actions. It's a passionate anthem, suitable for services focused on the Holy Spirit or seeking renewal and divine empowerment. The straightforward text makes its message clear and universally resonant for a committed congregation.
