About Come farò cuor mio
Claudio Monteverdi was a towering figure in the transition from Renaissance to Baroque music. This charming canzonetta, set for three female voices (SSA), is a secular Italian work of exquisite lyricism. The text expresses the singer's sorrow at parting from a loved one, lamenting that life itself seems to fade with the thought of separation.
