About Clare sanctorum senatus Apostolorum

This sacred motet in Latin, set for SATB choir, celebrates the Apostles, led by Peter and Paul, as pillars of the Church. The text extols their role in guiding the faithful and establishing Christian doctrine across the world. The music moves from praising Peter as ruler and Paul as a conqueror of division, to honouring Matthew, Thomas, Bartholomew, John, Philip, Simon, James, Andrew and Thaddeus as valiant defenders of God. The second part of the text expands this praise to encompass all Apostles, recognizing their authority as fathers and judges, with the whole world joyfully offering them due praise and honour.
