About Clamavit ad me

Adrianus Petit Coclico was a Flemish composer of the Renaissance, a period known for its rich polyphony. His motet, Clamavit ad me, is set for SATB choir in Latin. The text, drawn from Psalm 91, speaks of God hearing the faithful when they cry out, being with them in times of trouble, and delivering and glorifying them. Coclico sets these words of comfort and assurance with an expressive musical line, reflecting the profound spiritual meaning of the psalm. This sacred motet offers a significant example of Renaissance compositional technique applied to devotional texts, suitable for liturgical use or concert performance.
