Christus spes mea

Adrianus Petit Coclico was a Franco-Flemish composer of the Renaissance, active in the first half of the sixteenth century. His motet Christus spes mea is set for three voices (soprano, tenor, and bass) in Latin. The text, which translates to 'Christ is my hope and my protector, Jesus my salvation and humble preserver, to him I will always belong,' speaks of steadfast faith and devotion to Christ.
