Christo paremus by Eric Haas — Lyrics
Gloria, Gloria, in excelsis gloria!
Christo paremus cantica, in excelsis Gloria!
About Christo paremus
Joyful acclamations of "Gloria in excelsis" fill this festive Christmas motet. The Latin text, "Christo paremus cantica," calls for songs to be prepared for Christ, echoing the grand pronouncements of the Nativity. Scored for SATB choir, the piece offers a powerful yet accessible setting for the season. The composer Eric Haas crafts a setting that allows the choir to express the overwhelming joy and awe of Christ's birth. This work would serve as an uplifting addition to any Christmas carol service or concert program, bringing a message of heavenly praise to the congregation.
