About Christmas Troparion
This setting of the Christmas Troparion, a traditional Orthodox hymn, is suitable for SATB choirs. Alexander Kastalsky captures the solemnity and wonder of the Nativity in this sacred Christmas piece. The text, translated into English, speaks of Christ's birth bringing the "Light of wisdom" to the world, guiding those who "worshiped the stars" to adore the "Sun of Righteousness." This powerful imagery makes the Troparion an inspiring choice for a Christmas service or concert, allowing the choir to convey the theological significance of the event with rich, four-part harmony.
